We had a story competition relating to the Grade Two Modern Lyrical Amalgamation

The Sudden Fall – by Ruby Blower Age 9

Where am I?  It’s so different here, so strange, surrounded by leaves and twigs. I stretched out my arms and walk around my unfamiliar surroundings. Then out of the corner of my eye I see something large falling, I run to catch hold of it. It is a giant, tropical bird with feathers of different shades of pink and orange. I gently lay it down and it flies away, I will probably never see it again. But wait, I pull back a leafy bush and there it is the beautiful bird!  I run and run, I walk two steps and walk another two – looking up into the sky, just to see if it there waiting for me, but no. I sit down again, with sadness in my heart. For the last time I look up and there it is waving goodbye forever. I feel alone once more.

Chocolate Land – by Abbie Hughes Age 10

One night, a girl called Abbie was asleep in bed. She was dreaming about chocolate! There was chocolate everywhere. Everything was made out of chocolate! Abbie sat down on the chocolate grass, and picked up the chocolate flowers! They were very yummy indeed! Then Abbie saw a bubble, a chocolate bubble! Inside was a giant bar of Cadburys milk chocolate. Abbie burst the bubble to eat the chocolate. That was the yummiest thing Abbie had ever tasted. She stood up and looked to each side to see the chocolate surrounding her. Then she saw a massive chocolate cake falling from the biggest white chocolate cloud in the sky. Abbie ran to catch it and ran backwards to place it on the floor. She suddenly pleaded for more chocolate. Soon Abbie found the amazing chocolate curtain hiding the most beautiful bird in all the land! The chocolate dove! Abbie was so amazed at how beautiful it was she ran all the way across the chocolate field and sat down on the yummy grass. The she remembered the bird and Abbie looked at the amazing sights. The End!
